Being a baby is an exciting yet tricky time. You've just come into the world and everything is new and you're constantly growing and learning- it can be overwhelming!
I've done some extra courses in treating paediatrics and they are some of my fave patients (sorry everyone else) because the development of the human mind and body is fascinating!
Common conditions that osteopathy can help with include head and neck positioning, in-utero or birth strain, irritability, feeding difficulties such as trouble latching and sucking, digestive issues and movement asymmetries or restrictions.
Osteopathic treatment of babies is very gentle and includes cranial techniques, gentle mobilisation of joints, and indirect myofascial techniques. I do not perform spinal or joint manipulations on babies. Management of paediatric conditions is not just physical so we generally will address external factors like feeding, sleep patterns, home environment and parental factors.
Come see me at Regenerative Healthcare in Goulburn if you'd like to know more.
